New Year…Same Us?

Is seems that we have now fully settled into 2019; I am working on polishing off the Christmas baking from the freezer, and the girls are enjoying integrating their new toys into the toy explosion that is our home.

Our little family has come a long way since it was just Rob and I in our tiny apartment in Winnipeg with the super loud + sketchy neighbors. The last 9 years feel like a lifetime of events have happened - which is a totally naive thought, since obviously there is so much more to come.

Simple Underbed Toy Storage

My oldest daughter (4 yo) is at the age of ‘tiny toys’. Shopkins, Littlest Pet Shop, My Little Pony, and other random inanimate objects with faces that then somehow qualify as toys - they are all invading my house. As cute as they (and she) is… I hate picking up 50 of these things a day; or stepping on them or worse, digging them out of my 1 year old’s mouth (it’s like a choking hazard minefield in here).

13 Months Later...

13 Months Later...

A mere 13 months have gone by since my well intentioned '1st Blog Post' - perhaps now my follower(s) ('Hi Mom!') could handle another.

The last year + 1 month has been pretty crazy - due in large to the fact that I grew a tiny human, then had her sliced out of me, all while still trying to keep up with my design work (and my other tiny human, husband, dog, house, etc). But along with that craziness, has also come pure giddy joy and the ever increasing need to smother my girls with excessive amounts of tight squeeze hugs, kisses and raspberries.

Just Start.

Here I am, taking a deep breath and starting. I've been reading/pinning/watching videos about how to start a blog - and they all stress a similar point. Just start already. Ok fine. 

Basically this blog will contain both the business and the personal side of Timber + Lace Interior Design. Here I will post information and updates about my design projects + successes/struggles of being a newbie entrepreneur; as well as posts about my life as a wife, mom, daughter, friend + woman and all the crazy adventures that come along with that.
